The Flooring Professionals LLC recently had the honor of breathing new life into the historic Doggett Center at NC State, now a thriving hub for Catholic students seeking community, faith, and support during their college journey. This 100-year-old building carries a rich legacy, but time had left its mark on the original Raleigh hardwood floors—deep gouges, cracked boards, and uneven patchwork from decades past, including areas cut for old gas heater pipes. With at least three distinct wood types throughout, the challenge of repair and refinishing these hardwood floors, as well as staining and blending required precision and skill to honor its heritage.

The Doggett Center Floors Before: A Century of Wear

Our team tackled an extensive 2,500-square-foot restoration, expertly sanding, refinishing, and repairing the floors. We seamlessly integrated new sections where necessary, restored worn stairs and a stunning original banister, and performed meticulous trim repairs to revive the space.
